Absurdity of prohibition of name changing by CBSE NewZ

 CBSE can not deny students to change name on certificates as Right to change names is part of Right to Freedom of Speech: SC 

Supreme Court found a rule that prohibits students from changing or correcting names on Board certificates

This prohibition was based on presumption that if changing and correcting names would be allowed, it would affect the administrative efficiency of the board. The SC rightly called this notion ‘far removed from social reality’ and even ‘absurd’. One would think such a big national institution would not shy away from granting people their fundamental right just because it would cause them some trouble. I personally never questioned this rule and when I read this article I didn’t understand why I thought this was how it works. We as students never questioned why CBSE never allowed us to change our names in certificates. We just changed our names everywhere else if there was some wrong in our board certificates. I am looking forward to CBSE’s response and action in respective of this statement by SC. I hope they remove this prohibition and make students’ lives easier.
