Corpses not adding to pollution NewZ

Centre says corpses dumped in Ganga not adding to pollution in the river

After petitions were filed to inspect the effect of burning and dumping of the dead near the river Ganga in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar state governments ordered suitable authorities to inspect the water pollution changes in the holy river. Many determining reports are yet to be analyzed and made public but the BJP government claims other than some Ph imbalance in specific sites no spikes are measured in the water pollution level. I can not fathom a reasonable person agreeing with that statement. How can the dumping of dead bodies and burnt remains not cause water pollution? Since childhood, I have not understood the possible reason behind dumping ashes into holy rivers. If the rivers are holy and provide life shouldn't they be kept clean? And now amidst the Covid-19 crisis hospitals and governments are allowed to dump carcasses into India’s holiest river. I know many Hindus will disagree with this but I don't think tossing ashes and body into a river provides salvation to the dead. BJP government stating contrarily should not be considered a sound statement. Our ancestors worshiped the rivers. They did not throw remains in them. It is incredibly stupid to believe that this act is not causing harm to the river.
