Madras HC verdict for LGBTQIA+ NewZ

Protect LGBTQIA+ community: Madras High Court

Directs Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment to enlist NGOs that can provide support till a safeguard law is enacted

Madras HC has urged the union to provide more hygienic shelters and provide a list of NGOs that can provide assistance to armor the community. They also said any person who faced an issue because he / she / they belonged to LGBTQIA+ could approach any of the enlisted NGOs for safeguarding their rights. The union ministry should definitely act on this judgement as it has been 3 years since queer community was legalised in India. No person should feel invalidated and be bullied for their sexuality. Being queer is not a choice one makes. It is the way a person is born and they should have the right to live that way without feeling inadequate. The executive should make sure this community is shielded from the hate they’re facing from homophobic society and even their own families. We should accept , learn and support the LGBTQIA+ community.
