Trees for diamonds NewZ

A diamond mining project by Aditya Birla Group in Buxwaha forest of Madhya Pradesh spreads over 364 hectares and could mean the felling of 2,00,000 trees

A plea was filed in Supreme Court to put a stay on the project

The number of trees which would fall due to this project is not something our environment can afford right now. Our Carbon emissions are at the highest levels since measurements began 63 years ago. The last thing we need is cutting down a whole forest for some lavish jewelry. How was this mining project approved in the first place? Well the investment on the project is of 2,500 Crore so probably some cut was given to bribes or to the right people. It’s just my theory who knows what the Birla group actually did. Animals are dying, earth is deteriorating and our leading companies want to cut down more forests for profit.
