Climate Change around the World NewZ

A Myriad of things are happening across the globe that have only one reasoning behind them; Climate Change. In this blog, I will address these issues and explain their severity.

1] Flash Floods in Western Europe and Asia: a flash flood is rapid flooding of a low-lying area. Over 188  people have been proclaimed dead in Europe due to floods and in Germany alone, 155 are missing. Countries such as Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg, and The Netherlands have received up to 2 months of rain on 14 and 15 July. China, India, and the Philippines have also been hit hard by flooding. 12 people have died in the city of Zhengzhou in  China, and the city is demolished.

Numerous islands in the Philippines are drowning due to the heavy rains and floods. The  Majority of Islanders have lost their homes and livelihoods.

India was much more prepared due to the predicted annual monsoon flooding still hundreds of lives have been lost in mere 2 weeks. The states of Maharashtra, Uttrakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Bihar are taking the brunt of this year's monsoon. Rescue teams are overwhelmed by such rapid floods and are stretching thin.

2] Heatwaves: a heatwave is a period of excessively hot weather in a region. Scandinavian countries, Western USA, Canada, Russia, India, and the Middle East are all enduring a surge in their temperatures. Even Finland has crossed its average temperature range in July.

California, Utah, and western Canada have experienced record high temperatures.

Electric wires are melting and the internet is malfunctioning. Homeless people are getting sick and even air conditioning has stopped working in many countries.

3] Wildfires:  a wildfire is an unplanned fire that burns in a natural environment such as forests, prairies, or grasslands. Southern Europe is encountering over 50 wildfires just this month. Massive wildfires in Turkey have engulfed whole resorts. Siberia is counting up to 216 forest fires this summer due to the heatwave in Russia.

Extreme strong winds and heatwaves have led to a 21% increase in wildfires in the Western USA this year. Furthermore, in 2021 there also has been a 40% increase in the area burnt due to wildfire in the USA.

4] Drought: a drought is a period of time when an area or region experiences below-normal precipitation. California is under the grip of severe and exceptional drought - the worst in over 800 years.

South American countries are suffering from droughts as well. Brazil is enduring one of the worst droughts ever recorded.

These climatic changes are all repercussions of human actions. The governments are all suggesting common people minimize pollution. Instead what we need to do is hold large-scale industries and billionaires accountable for the damage they are doing to the Earth. The rich and their industries are exploiting every resource in their sight, emitting more CO2 than whole cities and not taking the blame for it. Scientists are repeatedly declaring that without mass-scale actions the conditions will get way worse by 2030.
We commoners can not make such policies or impact climate on such a large scale so we need to make sure the governments and industries take poignant steps to reduce climate change.
