Norwegian women's beach volleyball team facing fines for wanting to wear shorts instead of bikini bottoms NewZ

The Norwegian women's beach volleyball team requested to be allowed to play in shorts instead of bikini bottoms which they found too revealing and sexualizing. But they were threatened by the EC tournament organizer with fines if they wore anything covering more than 10cm of their butts.

This was before the tournament started. The women's team demonstratively wore shorts to their bronze final match against Spain. They have been fined 1500 euros for this. The justification, according to IHF: They were wearing ‘inappropriate attire’.

For context, this is the men’s and women's team in their ‘appropriate attire’ side by side:

This is absolutely revolting behavior by the federation. No institution should get to force a person into certain clothing if the person feels uncomfortable or sexualized in the mentioned attire. They have actually fined the team for wearing clothing that is comfortable for them. I can not believe people still believe they should get to have autonomy over another person's body. This is a ruling of an international federation and they believe that they are justified to make such regulations. I am disgusted.
