What’s happening in the USA NewZ

I have been collecting news from various sources for the past few weeks regarding the laws and bills which are being passed in the US. I am appalled by the regulations which have been approved. So this blog is a brief of what is currently transpiring in the United The states of America->

• Texas: this state is the worst of all so I have to make seperate point to include some of the horrendous laws the Texas Senate has passed. I have actually shuddered when the thought of living in Texas came to my mind after reading these laws:-

1. School curriculum changes- Texas Senate went out of its way to remove Susan B. Anthony (a women's rights and an anti-slavery activist in the 1900s), Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and Native American history from requires curriculum. They also ensured that educators do not have to teach that the KKK (white supremacy promoting group) is morally wrong. Texas is in charge of publishing textbooks for several states so this bill is going to have a significant impact.

2. House Bill 1927- this bill allows Texans to carry guns without a license or training from 1st September. Already the gun laws in the US are a laughing stock and now Texas has made them negligible. In 2021, 360 people have already died due to gun violence in the US. This bill is just adding fuel to the fire.

3.Heartbeat Bill- this bill illegalizes abortion and fines anyone who tries to get an abortion or is involved in the process of abortion. This law also opens portals for people to sue anyone who provides abortions. I have already written a blog on this law in the past but I think it should be mentioned again. Keeping the baby is a women's choice, not a political matter. No one should be making or influencing that decision other than the pregnant woman. Politicians can not be allowed to make laws for someone's body. Women can decide to have an abortion for any number of reasons and they are not obligated to give the world babies. A fetus is not a life and abortion is not murder.

These are just a few questionable bills passed by Texas Senate in 2021. Link for sources to more bills will be mentioned below.

• Encampment Law: LA council passed the encampment bill which essentially outlaws homelessness. This bill criminalizes poverty. So now if a person is in poverty the government will throw the person in jail rather than assisting and empowering.

•$25 Billion added to Pentagon's budget: the US military budget was already a whopping $704 Billion. Now it has been increased to a more insane number. The US could give clean water to the world for a year, end homelessness in the US, end world hunger for over 6 months, fund global projects to deal with the climate crisis for $25 Billion. But instead, Congress gave this money to the military and police.

•Voting laws: as of 14 July, 18 states have enacted 30 laws so far in 2021 that make it harder for Americans to vote. The Biden government is claiming that they are trying to reverse these laws or create more bills that will make it easier for people to vote but these assertions have not resulted in anything conclusive yet.

•Anti-Transgender Bills: 33 states have introduced more than 100 bills that aim to curb the rights of transgender people across the United States. The majority of the bills will affect transgender youth, a group of researchers and medical warn high rates of suicide and depression. 31 states have already introduced bills that ban transgender athletes from participating in sports consistent with their gender identities. 20 states implemented bills that prohibit or impede the administration of gender-affirming therapy to minors. Alabama is trying to pass a bill that would make it a felony for medical providers to provide transition-related care to transgender minors.17 of these bills have already been enacted. Tennessee has even given parents the choice to decide whether or not their children will be exposed to the LGBTQ+ community.

These are just a few of the abysmal bills and laws passed in the United States. Many experts and activists have come forward to candidly disapprove of these legislations. You should do it too.
